Hora ruit tempus fluit

La saison estivale terminée; "on" disait morose, "on" disait que "l'on" ne partait certainement pas en vacances. Eh ben non, "ils" sont bien partis en vacances, "ils" sont bien venus sur mes Terres d'Héphaïstos.  Alors l'arrière saison sera plus tranquille; Eh ben non, "ils" ("elles") viennent encore me voir, les touristes et les fileurs(euses). Quel plaisir de partager la passion du filage et l'amour pour les Combrailles.

En plus le temps court et je vois arriver les journées de laine à Felletin fin octobre. Mon rouet ne chome pas pour le moment, il faut refaire le stock de laine, la saison est vraiment passée dans mon armoire. J'ai filé un Didymes soyeux, 50% soie, 50%angora, très très doux. Sur mon rouet cette semaine la laine blanche de Betty Boop et de Cassegrain et j'espère commencer la laine d'Ankara. Je n'en ai pas beaucoup, mais que c'est doux la toison lapereau.

Quelques nouvelles du Silkroad by bike: Ricard a mis ses pieds en Chine, son vélo sur l'avion retour oslo et lui-même dans un avion pour Pekin. Jeff qui n'avait pas obtenu son visa Chine a entamé le retour Oslo en vélo. Actuellement il se trouve dans le Kyrgyzstan.

Outcome of Program for Fighting Poverty in Tajikistan

Dushanbe, Tajikistan: More than 250 Tajik citizens from low-income families participated in a course teaching income-yielding skills and more than 30 people gained permanent employment within three months of the program for fighting poverty in Tajikistan conducted by the Eurasia Foundation for Central Asia (EFCA).

The program for fighting poverty in Tajikistan organised courses in income-yielding skills in various regions of the Republic. Courses were held in different areas of Sogdii and Harlonsk, as well as in the Dzhamoat of Sohcharv, in autonomous Gorno-Badakhshan and in other regions controlled by the Republic.   

The first three months of the program was used for training beneficiaries in income-yielding trades such as: cookery, beekeeping, souvenir making and sewing.

What’s more, during this period an agreement was reached with employers and organisations about the delivery and sale of goods made by participants of the program. In particular, the public organisation “Anis”, EFCA’s partner in Huroson secured an agreement with local medical and educational institutions stating that the participants of the program will supply their customers with 7,000 somoni worth of baked and confectionary goods every three months.

It is expected that agreements with other organisations participating in the program will be secured in the next two months.

EFCA plans to complete the program for fighting poverty in Tajikistan by December 2009. The program is supported by the Dutch Government and the “Silk Road by Bike” operation.
